The amount of waste generated in the world threatens to overwhelm us. Much of this waste could actually return to production and consumption, while others that are toxic should be disposed of safely to prevent contamination of our food and water.
The success of these alternative processes depends directly on the level of involvement of citizens when disposing of their waste. There are recycling containers throughout the Islands and places dedicated to collecting and sorting waste. The chain is complete when we exercise our power as consumers and buy products made from recycled materials. Thus, a greater demand for these products in turn promotes the type of production that is an essential for the health of the environment.
